In uMatrix, I have the ability to selectively allow/disallow Scripts and XHR. This is different than NoScript, which does not differentiate between these in the main UI. I assume NoScript automatically allows XHR when a user allows a Script? In uMatrix, In what scenarios is it advisable to allow Scripts but not XHR (or vice versa)? In my personal surfing, it seems that whenever I allow Scripts I also need to allow XHR. So this makes me wonder why the UI gives users the ability to selectively manage them? When should I be on the lookout for allowing one but not the other?
