    Hello all:

I cannot keep Alexa off my computer!
We do not want this program installed by IE6 or Mozella browsers.

Can you possibly develop a fix or nix for this?

    Thank you!

SpywareBlaster can only prevent spyware from entering your computer.

You must of had ALEXA spyware on your computer before you installed SpywareBlaster.

If you want to get rid of ALEXA download THIS or THIS or THIS

Thank you for the resources. If Alexa was on my machine before
Spywareblaster was installed, it likely came about thru IE6. I tried to delete it thru "find files," but that may have not worked.

There is some kind of link with Alexa (What's Related?) that is installed with IE - SpyBot S&D will replace WhatsRelated.htm with a "safe" version if you let it. I notice that some anti-virus/anti-spyware apps (e.g. Kaspersky) still show a detection for Alexa, though.

Very true....and for those users that have Ad-aware....they will be found during a scan and are nothing more than the Show Related Links selection found in IE's menu selection....Tools\Show Related Links

    Code:
[U]IE's Show Related Links found by Adaware:[/U]
    Vendor:Alexa
    Category:Data Miner
    Object Type:Regkey

Description:[COLOR=Red]Installed with Internet Explorer[/COLOR] and some
Microsoft updates. Alexa is the [COLOR=Red]"What's Related links"[/COLOR]
feature on your Internet Explorer toolbar. Alexa technology uses a 'web
crawler' (bot) only when the toolbar is in use.

If one did a search of Wilders....and any other Security site for that matter....the Alexa saga will always pop-up from time to time.

Just scan with Ad-aware, I had Alexa before and Ad-aware got rid of it, no problem. It's a minor threat.

If it is IE's Show Related Links and you get rid of it....it simply reappears when IE is opened again o_O

If it is indeed ALEXA TOOLBAR....I agree one should then remove it.

Then like you said if it was the ALEXA TOOLBAR then use THIS to remove it.

And run Ad-Aware and Spybot to see if it picks up anything.
