Okay, this is the second time Ewido has displayed this 'adware' : The 1st report was the same. I ensured Ewido Ignored the entry. I scanned with adaware SE personal - came up clean. Then scanned with Spybot S&D - came up clean. AVG says I am clean (though I know this is a virus scanner). I then looked in my registry, and yes aksoft is there, and the program it points to is one available from sourceforge at the follwoing url: http://xtractor.sourceforge.net/ It is a mp3 conversion program, which allows you to convert cds to mp3 format. So i uninstalled the software, and the registry key removed - with just aksoft folder remaining when looking at regedit. So this is the software that Ewido is pointing to. Now my question is - is this a false positive ? As other programs have found nothhing untoward, and I have not noticed any abnormal activity on my PC. Many thanks Edit: Just completed more scans: Counterspy - clean A-squared - clean Symantec Online scan - clean Panda Online active scan - clean Kaspersky online scan - clean Windows Defender - clean
