    Hello forum,

I'm using version 8.0 True Image and whenever I run restore (bootable CD) from my Mandrakelinux image, I get the following message (not quoted word for word):

    starting udev
    can't mount root file system
kernel panic - no init found - try init= options

But whenever I do a clean install of this same version of Linux to test my system on that same partition, everything boots up fine. So that proves to me that my computer is working OK. And Linux was working fine when I first made the backup image so it must be good too.

    Can anybody help me please?

    Thanks in advance,
    Roy

    Hello rrssss,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software for Linux.

Could you please let us know do you get the message after restoration of your system or does the message appear when you try to run restore? Also try to create a new bootable CD, the Kernel panic error message might arise due to the bootable rescue media being corrupt.

    Thank you.
