I hit a site the other day that started throwing up pop-up's and set off my virus scanner. Since then, I have run AVG virus scanner, Trendmicro's Housecall, a free version of McAffee. I then downloaded Spybot S&D, Adaware, Spyhunter, SpySweeper, and run all of them multiple times. PurityScan shows up every time, even back to back runs. Also, pages are having certain words linked to an Adsrve site. Nothing I have done has been able to get rid of these 2 problems.

Today, I ran Adaware and Spysweeper. Spybot is getting stuck at the same point all the time. It just stops while looking for C2.lop.

All help will be VERY appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello,

press ctrl, alt and del and end task

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\wapisvsu.exe

You are running hijackthis from your desktop, this is not a good idea because when we do a fix hijackthis will create backups and they will be spread all over your desktop. Can you please create a folder in My Documents and call it Hijack (or something similar). Then extract hijackthis into the folder you have created and run it from there. When you have done that, delete the copy of hijackthis that you have on your desktop. Then Fix the following in HijackThis

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O1 - Hosts: 12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com

Thank you. I followed your instructions as follows.

Ended tasks for IEHost and wapisvsu.
Moved Hijack this to new folder and deleted desktop Hijack this.
    Used Hijack this to fix:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O1 - Hosts: 12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com
    O1 - Hosts: 12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Bakra] C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WTSS] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wapisvsu.exe

Rebooted in safe mode with show hidden files enabled.
    Deleted C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe & C:\WINDOWS\System32\wapisvsu.exe

Could not find C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm or C:\WINDOWS\System32\dskrses.exe

Rebooted in regular mode and ran Hijackthis again.

Ok, it is happening all over again. I stepped away from my computer for a couple of hours and when I came back AVG had a message up that "Backdoor VB.11.AM" and "backdoor.VB.9.AG" was found and to run AVG. I ran AVG and it found nothing. I then ran Housecall and it found "Stilen.A" and said it was non-cleanable.

I tried running Spybot S&D, and it locks up at the search for C2lop. I then ran Spysweeper and it found 18 items. o_O I had it clean all of those items, but we are back where I started this morning.

    Hi Rhiannon,

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm

    O2 - BHO: eXact Browser Companion - {F9765480-72D1-11D4-A75A-004F49045A87} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Kn5] c:\documents and settings\brandy horeftis\local settings\temp\Kn5.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [y] c:\documents and settings\brandy horeftis\local settings\temp\y.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Bakra] C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Dsi] C:\WINDOWS\System32\dp-him.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [r34X3tV] C:\WINDOWS\System32\immuv.exe

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WTSS] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wapisvsu.exe

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\dp-him.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\immuv.exe

    Then empty this folder:
c:\documents and settings\brandy horeftis\local settings\temp <= NOTE; do NOT delete the folder itself, just everything in it.
The Local settings folder is hidden by default.
To "unhide" hidden files and folders:
Launch My Computer from the Desktop Icon.
    Select View, Details.
    Select the Folders button.
Select Tools, Folder Options. Then select the View Tab. Select the Show hidden files and folders radio button is selected
and that the Hide file extensions for known file types check box is unchecked. Once this is done, select Apply and then
Like Current Folder (located near the top of the Folder Options box). Then select OK.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Thank you Pieter. I followed your instructions exactly. Please check my new log. This will be the third time I thought my computer was clean. The last two, those items all came back, even when I was not on the internet.

I appreciate your help, as I can see how busy all of you are.
