When I visit the Download FlashPlayer Center, and select the form in which I want to receive the update (tar.gz file), no Download Now button appears.

I have never had this problem in the past.

Is there another website that carries this exact new version download file 6.60 MB file?

You need to enable javascript, even if you hate to do so :D
Do you not use Linux repositories, or if on redhat clone the adobe repo ?

    Hi Ocky,

Javascript is enabled, and I do not run an antivirus.

I use Ubuntu 11.04 Natty - the repo no longer gets updated.

A quick search comes up with this site (in German) http://www.computerbase.de/downloads/internet/browser/adobe-flash-player/ which has the tar.gz package.
Opera reckons the site is clean, but it's up to you.

It works for me. I just did it here (Slackware64), with JavaScript (NoScript) enabled and no problems. I needed it anyway, I was at 273.

I normally use a script to download it with wget. Here is the URL I use.

This is a good place to check installed version, http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
