    Anyone can sign compiled code. You, me, Microsoft. There's no reason why they wouldn't in cooperation with Adobe - this isn't some random persons program it's Adobe.

    As you say, you can't make a modified version of Flash without source code. That doesn't mean all of the source code was given to Microsoft, which I don't think would make sense. It's more likely that specific areas of source were shared with a Microsoft team (probably under NDA) and the same with areas of IE code.

    I also haven't read anything indicating performance improvements to the built in Flash - just automatic patches and "power saving" improvements.

    Like I said before, there doesn't seem to be a lot of directly cited information out there - only a lot of stuff from windows rumors sites.
