Could someone explain to me why this MS article, updated on 24 Sep 2013 (Revision: 2.0), is talking about file versions 11.8.800.174? Shouldn't that be 11.8.800.175?
Could someone, who is using IE on Win8, check those file versions?
I don't have Win8 so I cannot check it. If someone here has it, please!

On Win8 Flash updates for IE are handled by MS.
On XP, for example, Flash updates are handled by Adobe.

I am just curious whether that MS article gives the right files versions info, if you have installed that update on Win8.

    Thank you.

    Hi silj,

    Thanks.

But it doesn't explain the info about the file versions at that MS article.
So, the question is still: is the info about files versions at that MS article correct?

I know that it doesn't apply to my system. LoL.
I have just been asking whether someone who has IE on Win8 and has updated it, could verify the files versions as mentioned at that MS article. That's all. ;)

lol, FanJ -it's hard to get a direct answer sometimes! I have Windows 8 X64 and two days ago got an update for Flash Player, which is built-in to Internet Explorer 10. I will check this out and attempt to provide an answer to you when I do. :)

I checked - I have Adobe Flash Player 1.1.800.175 installed now. It was installed by Update KB 2889543 on September 24. I don't know if that helps explain it or not. Per Adobe, that is the correct and latest version for ActiveX under Windows 8.

    Hi John,

    ;)
    Thank you.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted about it at all.
I was just curious why that MS article, when looking at all the file versions it gives, is telling they are all 11.8.800.174 and not 11.8.800.175.
    I was just curious.
    It is not important.

In the last few days when i play a utube video the sound is sometimes muted. Flash Player does not always remember my volume setting. This happens with Chrome, IE9 and others.
