When I went to go to try and uninstall something in the Change/Remove Programs list, my list seemed to load faster than usual, but it didn't seem fully populated to me. It was missing some items such as FireFox and it didn't have a Change/Remove button for the programs.

    This is what I'm seeing:

Does anyone know how I can change it back to normalo_O

I don't know if anything is actually wrong here. As far as I can tell, this shouldn't affect your ability to uninstall those programs since they should have uninstallers in their respective program files directories. If not, try using uninstallers like, ...get ready..., "Your Uninstaller 2006".

I know this doesn't affect my ability to uninstall programs, its just that my list doesn't seem right to me, and I don't have the change remove button there. Only one of my programs that got added has the button for which to remove or change. I'm just worried about not seeing every program on the list, and not seeing the usual itmes.

Pick one of the programs on your list in the control panel and reinstall it. See if that program shows up in the registry and control panel afterwards.

Did you use some sort of registry cleaner?

Uless you have a backup of the registry, I would try the reinstall route for your programs. I would also make a backup of the registry when you get through and keep it handy.

It won't fix the current problem but if such problems occur in the future, it will be there.

Have you tried reinstalling a program yet?

    Hello.

I have found this. Maybe a viable solution... Try it.

BTW, I am just curious as to why does the two windows from your screenshot have different themes?

sorry, but i tried that, but it doesn't work because if u look at the second window, i only have one program.

and i have different themes there because a friend of mine suggested a theme change, but it didn't do anything....

this problem is really getting on me.....:doubt:

Sorry, I have just noticed that I posted the same link as Ron. :) I thought to suggest theme changing also, that's why I asked first. Well, if you have some kind of backup (image), now would be the right time. ;)

a system backup (image of your system HDD) :D
I really don't see other solution. It appears that you are missing some entries from the registry, and only some kind of restore will get them back.
Have you tried booting to safe mode? Is the situation in add/remove applet still the same?

i haven't tried to boot in safe mode yet, and i'll try and restore all my registry mechanic fixes.

UPDATE: i restored all the entries in registry mechanic and got SOME of the remove buttons back, but i still don't have some programs there properly....
!!! i just tried to use photoshop, and it said the key isn't working or something......
