Is this any help Krusty? https://help.getadblock.com/support...3585-adblock-keeps-losing-my-settings-in-edge
Thanks stapp. I'll have to get back to you later on this - starting to get late here my time. There was no cookie shown in CCleaner > Options > Cookies for Adblock though. Cheers.
stapp, I followed the instructions to add the two files to the ignored list but as soon as CCleaner ran Adblock was reset. I did see a few "getadblock" files but since they weren't mentioned... I selected a few lists, closed Edge and ran Analyse in CCleaner again and found another, "BetaFishAdBlock" cookies, which I also put it in the ignore list but once again AB was reset. I'm done with it for now. And ABP is still deleting lists. Thanks.
I'm also done with Adblock and Adblock Plus form the store. For the moment I'm running a side loaded Adguard extension without those problems. You van also side load Ublock Origin. How to side load extensions: Adguard for Edge: https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/releases/tag/v2.4.13 Ublock Origin for Edge: https://github.com/nikrolls/uBlock-Edge/releases
Hi G_T_G, I considered uBlock O but I read that filters can't be updated yet and you need to enable the extension every time you open Edge, so that doesn't sound too hot, unless that has been resolved with newer versions. I'll be quite happy when a stable version of uBO is released, ABP too for that matter. How does Adguard work in Edge?
For Adguard to work with Edge, the WFP network driver must be enabled. You can check on Settings > General settings Note that the driver is known to conflict with Antivirus's SSL scanning. So, I personally recommend disabling your antivirus's ssl scan in favor of Adguard's driver. Especially if you want to use Edge. Adguard for Windows doesn't require extensions to work on Edge. So, the problems with filters not updating that Ublock Origin has won't happen with Adguard. But since there are already plans to add Ublock Origin to Edge extension list, then any issue it has should be quickly fixed(hopefully)
Hi Krusty, The filters can be updated now. The only thing remains that you need to enable the extension every time you open Edge, but you get a prompt for that, so it's just 1 click... Both uBlock O and Adguard browser extensions work fine now in Edge. I really like them both. uBlock O is the better adblocker for now, but that can change when they are stable.
Sorry I was talking about the Adguard browser extension for Edge. Don't like the Aguard for windows need of it's own SSL certificate. So while having a licence I only use the browser extensions. Both (Adguard and uBlock O) work fine in Edge and all filters can be updated now.
Sigh. that worked for about 1 minute and it isn't blocking anything now. FYI, I didn't even get a chance to run CCleaner before uBO stopped working.
Strange.. no problems here. You use uBlock Origin v1.9.15.100? Maybe you can try the Adguard extension?
My friend, I'm sick of "trying" all extensions in Edge. LastPass works most of the time but the rest so far just suck.
You're so right. Edge is promising but still work in progress... better wait till uBlock or Adguard become stable official extensions like Lastpass. For me it is Google Chrome till that time. At the moment I'm using the Adguard extension in Edge and Chrome.
I've just received an update to ABP which brings it to 0.9.9.0, which is supposed to solve the issues I've had where EasyList keeps getting recreated and subscription lists being deleted. Here's keeping my fingers crossed.
