ad ware problems - help please

Very new to this, don't even know if I'm in the right place to ask this question:
System Windows Me I have Zone Alarm Spybot CWShedder All my Microsoft updates are installed.
I recently did a free scan of adware which came up with 4 itiems:
1. Bfast Cookie - not critical
2. W32 Mimail.C C\\Windows\netwatch.exe -severe
3. Client Man C:\\Windows\system\msmc.exe - dangerous
4. WORM_OPASEFC:\\Windows\FONTVIEW.EXE
I could not clean from this particular site as I would have had to pay and the cost was in dollars and I did not know how to convert to stirling.
After some advice from Computer Active Forum I did other checks:-
Trend Micro House Call Virus Scan which came up with one problem:-
Virus - TROJ SMALL XC File C:\recycled|Dc5.exe - non cleanable
(no mention of the others, where have they gone?!)
I decided to free scan again from the original site (or so I thought) but ended up at SPYWARE BEGONE! who came up with 9 Spyware/Adware infections
Seven of which were Spyware Trusted Zone - registry
One was Alexa - Adware - Registry The other: Dynamic Toolbar - Browser Hyjacker - Hard Disc. Again I could not clean up from this site unless I paid, which was again in dollars.
I really do not know what is happening, Spybot and CWShredder show my machine is clean, Zone Alarm says I am protected.
What do I do please. I am not terribly computer literate being 65 yr old (female) silver surfer, please be gentle!! I also have a problem staying connected to Virgin IE and OE, which means I have to reconnect frequently - I have had to reconnect three times to do this. FRAN

run windows update and get current if you are not
spybot do you mean spybot search and destroy by pepi mk software or some rip-off clone? what version? 1.3? updated?
if spybot s&D are you in advanced mode? if so what options are you using
update and then post a scan in the spybot forum at net-integration
or another spybot s&d specialist

the one to use is ad-aware by LAVASOFT accept no substitutes
if is is "adawre " as a product IT IS A RIP OFF ignore the following
they are just trying to scam getting you to BUY the product

Glad you are aleart to these scams too many people are taken in

do not use cwshredder without some advice unless you are above beginner

Zone Alarm says I am protected.
you are protected UNLESS you let things access your computer when you should not beware of KNOWN PROGRAMS such as explorer, outlook etc trying to access the internet when yhey have no known reason for doing so
check your zone alarm settings from automatic or always allow or ask
(this is the BIG problem with the XP firewall it does NOT check for nasties trying to "PHONE HOME"

ok fran one step at a time
go to internet options
set your home page to anything BUT about blank or MSN.com
(watch for changes, ad-aware fix or cwshredder may reset to about blank not a problem but a big problem if reset and you do not know why
delete cookies, delete files AND delete files with offline content box checked
clean out your TEMP folder if this is a big job RENAME your temp folder TEMP.BAK then you MUST create a NEW FOLDER named.. TEMP
try all of your programs if everything still works after a couple of weeks check out any .txt files and anything else of interest and delete the TEMP.BAK
there are also programs which will help you do this like CCleaner or internet sweeper

up date your installed virus checker if not install one of the good free ones
run another on line scan to double check
install the real ad-aware check for updates and fix everything it finds
anything not fixed? go to the lavasoft forums and find out how to do a "FULL CUSTOM SCAN" that's what they call it run the scan fix everything
be shure to check the box to allow rescan at reboot or run in "safe mode"
reboot and let it fix
anything left
post in the ad-aware forum
they are volunters so be patient
If you have not done their "Full scan" the'll give you instructions on how to do it
if you are not getting a response (their buried)
run spybot search and destroy THE REAL ONE
fix all of the red checks
anything left??
post up in the Net Integration Spybot forum (google should get you there)
