I don't see anything that needs removing.

Please use the Ad Muncher toolbar and report missing ads.

the more details you include the better chance of it being removed.

Sorry about that. Either they made some changes to their site (were quite a few amazon ads that I do not see now) in the last week or one of your list updates fixed it previously. I had 11 rules I had made about a week ago in order to clear out the ads but after deleting my custom filters for the site, the ads are still not showing. Either way, something changed in the last week (probably a filter list update) and all is good there now. I am an user of AM for many years and have to get used to toolbar/reporting feature. Honestly I forget it is there (old habits for me can be hard to break). I will remember that reporting feature and if I see more ads, I will report them. Thanks for the help!

Admuncher may be the first adblocker of any kind to block Patch ads.. Really cool.. Only tiny issue is it leaves a white gap on the side. Otherwise, fantastic at least the ads are gone!

Often I find Admuncher the only thing able to block stuff on specific sites, and for that - it is a valuable product.

    Which browser do you use?

There was a space left in IE that's removed for another update.

All browsers (Chrome/IE/Firefox) have the box except for Opera.

Admuncher appears to not filter when Cyberfox is running. How is that possible if it is working at the TCP level filtering Port80?

Also the toolbar won't launch within Cyberfox.

it's a new browser and I've never added it to the filter targets list.

    +cyberfox:*

add that to the Filter Targets tab.

    it will then be filtered.

report other apps that aren't filtered and I will add them to the default list.

Does Ad Muncher block Shock Sites ? If not , a option in version 5.xx would be great.

    I don't now only because I don't have a list of them.

finding ads to block is a lot easier.

if you have a comprehensive list of them I am willing to block them now.

    :)

Yes I have a comprehensive list of them , some good guy made it. If possible I want them blocked , but only if it isnt hard or problematic for you.

Shock sites are sick , they can cause trauma in some people :(

Can I send you a pm with the link of the list?

    Thanks Jeff :thumb:

"A shock site is a website that is intended to be offensive, disgusting and/or disturbing to its viewers, containing materials of high shock value which is also considered distasteful and crude, and is generally of a pornographic, scatological, extremely violent, insulting, painful, profane, or otherwise provocative nature.

They are often passed around via e-mail or disguised in posts to discussion sites as a hoax in an attempt to trick users into following the link to the website."

Ad Muncher can block them with the filter "Block retrieval of URL"

Or, alternatively, you can just not search for them, visit them? I mean, your browser only goes where you tell it to (redirects/malware aside). If you want to censor the web, do it with your router/parental controls, not a public program.

@Max2. True "shock sites" are websites dealing with extreme violence, fetishes, cruelty and so on, generally not run of the mill porn. Places like DocumentingReality, LiveLeak (well, the old version for the most part, before they cleaned up a bit). Think suicide, murder, torture pics/videos. Some deal with violence from movies, others are real and uploaded from various areas of the world. I've never seen them "disguised" to trick people into visiting them. They're not the kind of places people are going to "Rick Roll" others into.

Let's not block Shocksites, these aren't within the spectrum of this programs agenda, which is ads.

BEFORE buying Admuncher I tested a half dozen solutions, and most of them slowed browsing, ruined pages, or otherwise blocked stuff I didn't want blocked or caused some other issue. Admuncher being focused on ads is why I purchased it.

If you want filters, get a filtering DNS, use parental controls, or use a URL filter on your browser. But please, do not expect an ad-blocking program to selectively block specific websites. Almost all AV-Suites can do this already if you like.. Install Bullguard2013 it's parental filter is astounding, and can block that kind of stuff. I use that for my kids.

No it doesnt work like that , Example:

http://tiny.cc/qwjtqw Click there and you will automatically go to Wilders Security home page . People can do the same way thing to make you go to Meatspin , Lemon Party and others ... ( dont search that).
This kind of thing happens much more than you imagine in forums , and there are many ways to do that besides using sites like Tiny.

Censor the Web? For this reason I asked for a option to Turn it on in version 5.xx , and usually people dont want to go to this kind of websites. And please dont compare it with Rick Roll ...

You sounded too full of yourself that you explained to the other guy the same that I already had done , and anyway I asked Jeff if it was possible , I didnt demand anything.

Yeah maybe you are right , lets keep this way.

But Ad Muncher agenda is much more than that. It is all about making the web experience faster , safer and cleaner.

We can wait for v5.x then.

I will add them as a user selectable list that isn't enabled by default.

    :)

keep the ideas coming, all thoughts and feedback are welcome.

Not the greatest idea but could you add an option to update every time Windows starts :p?

Full of myself? I explained my position and explained in greater detail what a typical "shock site" was (By the way, I've been to everywhere you mentioned and lots more. I'm "shocked" by very little). I again have not seen any of this trickery you refer to, and I've traveled some ugly roads on the upper and lower net. But whatever, what you've seen and I've seen differ and makes no difference in the main point, which is AM shouldn't be used as a morality check, but as an ad blocker, as in "Ad Muncher". Even as an option, users are likely to complain. Why? Because it will look like a case of the devs deciding what is acceptable and what isn't as far as content goes. Think I'm wrong? Look at ABP. The guy put in an "acceptable ads" feature and made it optional. What happened? Still today users groan and call the man a sellout. I realize shock sites and that are a different scenario, but the effect will be the same, you watch.

    @Bodhitree

4406 is out with support for cyberfox and waterfox.

4405 fixed the empty space on patch.com pages.

plus all the usual baked in goodness that goes into each update.

    :)

    2 Bugs I discovered:

1- When Ad Muncher is on, if I launch the Nero Product Manager to check for updates, it fails saying it couldn't connect, after disabling the Ad Muncher filter it loads just fine

2- When I install Real Player, you know after installation you get to choose if you want the Free version of the Plus version, every click on those pages gives me an error (forgot its name) I login, get the error, click next, get the error, choose FREE, get the error, then the player launches fine

Although the 2nd issue is not very important to me but the first one is as that is a pure false positive Nero has no ads whatsoever

    please fix

    thank you

1.) Try excluding the process name for that app via the filter targets tab.
Find it listed in the middle section on that tab, select it and click "don't filter"
    Does that help?

2.) is that an actual page? can you share the link?
Don't think I'm gonna install real player to get to that link otherwise... ;)

I don't think this is needed, and I use a password protected Internet connection so my computer is not connected automatically to the Internet after each restart. So I am bound to miss the updates and i think this will be a added burden on the update servers if there are multiple restarts.
Having said that I would like to see the updates check to be twice a day instead of once as I can see 2 lists released everyday.

    Works great..

PLEASE do not bloat up V5!! Such as adding ability to block shock sites.. This is absolutely something Admuncher shouldn't do as there are 1,000 other ways to block them already. Most of the other ad-munching type products are slow, bloated, and cumbersome.. I would hate to see Admuncher go that way..
