Lurking around the interwebz i found something interesting . . . (Well at least for me :D)

I never knew something like this existed o.o
    Ad-Aware Total Security
It seems that it's Ad-Aware licensed G-Datas IS and added it's own features, so basically it's 3 engines (Not sure about this one but it has Ad-Aware definitions), plus other things they added on their own, such as their PC Tune Up etc.

BTW, the installer size is HUMONGOUS 389MB, yes you read correctly :ninja:

Who dares to try it

I stumbled upon that yesterday. I was poking around their site since I got one of the free Ad-Aware Pro licenses that Cnet was giving away. It isn't something I normally use (I dropped it sometime ago) but decided to try it on a laptap I just acquired. :D

I'm going to wipe the drive and reinstall Windows before I put Ad-Aware on it. It is hard to believe the setup file is that big though. And the one for Total Security is right at 400 megs. A security program that big should be able to do it all. :argh:

It will probably still require you to download 200MB of signatures :D.

Ad-Aware Total Security is G Data TotalCare 2011.
Except for the visuals and text in the GUI and Help, there is nothing whatsoever Lavasoft in there.

Are you sure? There is extra spyware/adware scan on scanner screen. Maybe they added their own engine

Ad-Aware Totaly Security is G-Data + Lavasoft Engine which seems to have been improving recently. It would make no sense at all to have a Lavasoft Security product without a Lavasoft engine in it.
