Windows 7 Action Center reported a problem with ESET Smart Security which I don't have installed. I use ESET NOD32, so I'm wondering if this is some type of compromise.

The message in Action Center reads like this...

Solve a problem with Smart Security
Smart Security has stopped working properly.
An update is available that solves this problem

Click to download from the ESET website.

If I click on the hyperlink, it wants to send me to ESET.eu. Since I'm in the U.S. and it knows it, I wonder why it doesn't send me to ESET.com??

Also, if there were a real issue with ESET NOD32, wouldn't the icon in the system tray turn red and indicate there's a problem?

Anyone know if this message is legitimate or not?

    Thanks, Mark.

Do you have the latest version of EAV 5.0.94 installed?

Hi. I just get the very same message and I have only antivirus, not smart security as well.

Marcos, you mention version 5.0.94 but the site (http://www.eset.eu/nod32-download/eav_nt32_enu) shows only version 5.0.93 which is the one I have installed.

    Any recommendation?

    Regards,

EDIT>>> Apparently the .com site shows the .95 version. SOmthing is confusing in both sites.
