It only sees it as a cd-writer and obviously I want to back up onto dvd as opposed to cd. Any ideas please? I'm on XP SP2.
    Thanks for all in advance.

    Hello BB,

Reporting a DVD as a CD is a known "feature :)P)" of True Image and doesn't affect its ability to record to DVD (either directly or via third-party UDF packet writing software). Just ignore what it says and continue following the Create Backup Wizard.

    Regards

Nope, that's not it. I can write to the dvd using Nero, and I can backup to CD using Acronis, which is a waste of time given the size of what I'm backing up. I still can't get Acronis to write to DVD.

Hah! I've updated Acronis and now it will indeed write to DVD. It corrupts files so far, but at least it writes! Thank you.
