    Hello kmajjo,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Could you please clarify whether your external USB hard drive is not detected when Acronis True Image 8.0 is running from under Windows or when booted from the special Bootable Rescue CD?

    Please also tell me if Windows recognizes this USB hard drive normally.

    Does this external hard drive appear in the list of the available devices when you are trying to create an image?

    Please describe actions taken before the problem appear step-by-step.

    Tell me what operating system is installed on your workstation.

    Provide me with the exact model of your external USB hard drive.

    Thank you.

    Hello Alexey
    The USB HD is detected when i boot the DELL Precision 380 with windows xp sp2 and i can explore it.
    When i boot with the TrueImage CD rescue the internal SATA HD is detected by TrueImage , but not my USB HD.
    The model of the USB HD is : Lacie d2 HD 160Go USB 2.0.
    I don't have problem with any others Dell model (latitude , optiplex )

    Hello kmajjo,

    Please create Linux system information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Please also create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy;

    Please keep your external USB hard drive connected while creating Acronis Report and Linux system information.

    Send these files to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
