I've ordered Acronis True Image Home 2009 a few days ago.
When creating a backup to FTP i've got the following problem.

1st step: Create FTP connection check if its oke.
2nd step: Select destination for image
3th step: The software hangs can't do anything, need to reboot.

The strange thing is that when i try it on a other pc its working.

Used not working PC: SUN Ultra24

    PC Working HP XW4600

    Hello NL2TTL,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

Please make sure that the following settings are correct:

    - FTP-server must allow passive mode for file transfers.
    - It is recommended that you change the source computer Firewall settings to open ports 20 and 21 for both TCP and UDP protocols and disable the Routing and Remote Access Windows service.

Also, you can try to do the following:

    - Increase timeout for idle control connection in the settings of FTP server;
    - Set the size value in Archive splitting settings to 200 MB (Tools -> Options -> Default backup options) ans see if the issue persists.

If the issue remains, please provide us with FTP log, you can attach the file to your post.

    Windows 32-bit:

To obtain FTP log, please proceed as follows:

    1. Run regedit from Start -> Run
    2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\DebugLogs registry key. (If the DebugLogs key does not exist, please create it)
    3. Add ftp value (Type: DWORD; Data: 1)
    4. Reproduce the problem

    Windows 64-bit:

To obtain FTP log, please proceed as follows:

    1. Run regedit from Start -> Run
    2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Acronis\DebugLogs registry key. (If the DebugLogs key does not exist, please create it)
    3. Add ftp value (Type: DWORD; Data: 1)
    4. Reproduce the problem

In Windows 2000/XP/2003 the ftp.log will be created in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\DebugLogs folder.

In Windows Vista the ftp.log will be created in \ProgramData\Acronis\DebugLogs.

    Thank you.

I also get the "freeze" when connecting to my FTP server (Ubuntu VSFTPD). I can test connection successfully from Acronis to my server on a local LAN (Create FTP COnnection), but it just shows "processing" forever when I try to connect for a restore. Passive is enable, and it works from Acronis True Image version 10, but not with my new upgrade Acronis True Image 2009. Why would this be?
