    Hi,

I am using TI for about a year very satisfied globally except :

    - boot-cd takes quite long ( about 2 mins on my system) to come to the programs main screen

Now have yesterday for the first time experimented with creating a secure zone : creation seems to have funtcionned OK :
    * succes message published
    * HD on which created has "lost" 50 GB as decided
    * have been able to save an image of C: onto it ( form within Windows XP SP2)
Have also allowed creation of "Acronis Bootloader"

Then tried to boot from it using F11 : Ok, starts Acronis, but again boots slowly ( about 90 secs)
Then went to restore image->from secure zone to C: ( no image selected since nothing displayed there : message indicates that no name is necessary in the secure zone, but there should be one - see above; and only one)
Then TI starts checking drives, displays status window about operation 1 going on, with an estimated time of 15min->11mins in less than 30 secs. Then : hangs PC.

    Have gad to reboot

Restoring from CD has never shown that hanging problem.

    Any idea ?

Or shoudl I simply revert to CD and forget the secure zone and acronis boot loader way?

    TIA

    o_O

    Hello Pivert,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

First of all, please make sure you use the latest build(937 for 8.0 version), which is available on our web site at updates page. To get access to updates you should register your software first at registration page. Please disable any download managers, internet download/connection boosters, etc. before the download.

Please note that 2 mins is a normal time for booting both from Bootable CD or using Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. This time varies depending on the systems hardware configuration.

Please note that there are no names available in Acronis Secure Zone. When during restoration procedure you receive message that indicates that no name is necessary in the secure zone you should simply proceed by clicking the "Next" button. In the next section of the restoration wizard you will be able to choose any image you have created in the Acronis Secure Zone by marking the corresponding date of creation of this image.

If you encounter a problem with hanging your system during the restoration process please do the following:

    - Download Acronis Report utility available at http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to support@acronis.com? This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

    - Could you please boot your computer using the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears? After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the "quiet" word, click on the "OK" button and wait for # prompt to appear. Please insert a diskette into a floppy disk drive and issue the following commands:

    cd tmp
    mkdir mntdir
    mount /devfs/floppy/0 mntdir
    sysinfo > mntdir/sysinfo.txt
    umount mntdir

    - Send us the sysinfo.txt file from the diskette.

Please send this report to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
