I just finished an IDE to SATA transfer and it seemed to work fine. However,
I noticed an "Acronis Trueimage Backup Archive Explorer" has added itself to
my devices (top entry in Device Manager). Is this needed for proper function
of my drive now? Can I delete it? Thanks in advance.

If I understand correctly, this is used for the mounting of backup images.
I would not delete it. :)

    Hello Mark,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We do not recommend that you delete this device. As SSK told, this is a virtual device that is needed to mount images. Even if you do not use mounting feature, please do not delete the device, otherwise the system may becaome unstable and in some cases unbootable.

    Thank you.
