Attempting to restore an SBS to an older box using the Universal Restore.

Running on a trial disk sent from Acronis.

Source system is a dynamic C: drive, 550GB. Resulting backup archive is 83GB. Destination system has a recently wiped raid array of 100GB.

When attempting to perform the restore, I can assign the MBR selection from the original backup to the destination drive, but cannot assign the original NTFS partition. The space shows up under Disk 1 as "Unallocated", and is gray'd out. This trial disk does not allow me to format/allocate space on the disk.

Is the source of the problem the mismatch between the original system drive size (550GB), and the destination size (100GB)? Even though there's only 83GB in the backup? Does the destination server have to have an equal or greater disk size for the Universal Restore to function?

Is this not possible with the trial? If so, whats the point of them distributing trial iso's of this product?
