    Hello trichard,

Thank you very much for your help. This is really appreciated. If you get a solution or at least a reply that you find important please let me know (via PM is more reliable). Our representative will contact VIA directly soon. We will provide you with the results as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

I have the same problem with the VIA chipset, and can't wait for solution to this. I have been monitoring this forum for a long time.

Now my question is I purchase this nearly a year, and would like, when the solution comes up, that i can upgrade without an additional charge.

    Can anyone answer this? moderator

    Thanks

I have been waiting for about 1 year now, no fix yet. Yes, you read that correctly, 1 YEAR. The problem is simple, the software uses linux drivers, which are included with the software. Most of the world does not use Linux, Duh! I think it was intentional, because you can pretty much bet that this software will not work with your next computer, unless you send Acronis some money for a new version.

    Hello spog,

Could you please explain your problem with Acronis True Image? Acronis Bootable CD doesn't support your controller, am I correct? Could you please let us know the full model name of the HDD controller your drive is connected to?

    Thank you.

    Hello Arch Stanton and KGRAT,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

I'm afraid that the current build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 does not support Via 8237 sata controller.

However, we have already contacted VIA and will do our best in order to implement the support for this controller as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for the current inconvenience.

    Thank you.

    Hello all,

We are really sorry for the inconveniences. Now we are carrying negotiations with VIA8237 concerning open source drivers. This controller will be supported in future builds of Acronis software.

    Thank you.

I've had no particular problems with either the VIA or Promise controllers, running TI from the boot-loader.

We are talking about the VIA8237 controller (like the topic says) :p
and that it has ONLY worked in build 613, BUT every build after that, it's never worked :(

I have restored to both RAID-1 and RAID-0 on the VIA chip, and have no problems. I'm used to restores taking a long time after using DriveImage for years. None of the RAID controllers ever seem to have anything but Windoz drivers available. Slow is better than nothing, but anyway it does "work".

Hi, did you get this working on windoz xpleaze as this sounds like a linux thread?

If you did, how long did it take you, mine just freezes when restoring the image, last step and I'm trying to do this on a Windows XP SP2.

    Thanks,
