    Hi All,

    As a free download, I was given Acronis 10.0 since I purchased Vs.9.0 in
    in September. I downloaded and received two files both over 100mb. one for 10.0 and the other for 10.01. I installed the 10.01 over vs. 9.0 and attempting to clone my hard drive the program became corrupted and dropped the NTLDR on both drives. I had to reload my original hdd and recover the second drive.
    I loaded Acronis 9.0 and cloned my hard drive sweetly with no difficulty.
    I received no instructions with 10.0 and 10.01 how to load, I used the 10.01 without installing the 10.0 and now am not sure how to proceed.
    I do not wish to corrupt anymore drives and on downloading the PDF for 10. there is nothing new from 9.0 for installing. What would cause the corruption and does anyone have correct installation instructions for updates to version of Acronis True Home? Only real difference I see in 10. is they say it will work with the new Vista from M/S.
    Can anyone direct me or others to proper instructions.?? Edwh

    Hello EdWh,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    We are sorry for the delayed response.

    Please be aware that the correct file name for the installation file of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home is "TrueImage10.0_s_en.exe". At this moment only one build of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home is available (4871).

    Please note that Acronis True Image 10.0 Home as well as Acronis True Image 9.0 Home is able to back up/restore disk(s)/partition(s) and also separate files/folders and also Acronis True Image 10.0 Home has some new features like back up of Windows application settings and MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express settings and messages. Please have a look at this previous post of mine describing some new features of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home. This post also might be useful.

    Please also note that if you already have previous version of Acronis True Image Home installed, the new version will simply update it, there is no need to remove the old version and reinstall the software.

    As for the issue with using Clone Disk tool of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home, please note that we will need additional information in order to investigate this issue thoroughly and to provide you with a possible workaround. Please note that you will need to reproduce the issue and collect the following information:

    1) Step-by-step actions which you took that led you to this issue.

    2) Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;

    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;

    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;

    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;

    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please keep both hard drive connected while creating Acronis Report and Linux system information.

    Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
