I am using adobe acrobat reader 6 which is a very heavy on my old pc, I still have 5.1 source on my system but I need an advice before uninstalling ver. 6 and install ver. 5 ...
Does ver. 5 has all (at least most of) the features ver.6 ? Will be some times when I open a file and then receive an error messages that some feature are not supported by this version?
    thanx in advance.. :)

    Hi minacross,

You can install the v6.0 and put this utility (Adobe Reader SpeedUp) in the subfolder "Reader" here you installed Acrobat Reader, and change the settings as you want to speed up the Acrobat... ;)

It also works great with v7.0 :D

    Hope you like it...

:doubt: I'll wait untill I get it on a magazine cover disk, can't be bothered to download it now as I hardly ever use it.

I find version 6 a tad sluggish on 2.66 Gig Intel P4 with 512 Ram......and opening pdf's on the web with FF can sometimes stall a bit. I've still got BOTH 5 and 6 installed (so I can use 5) but it must default to 6 for opening docs. I hope 7 is not a sluggish beast like 6!

If you're using Windows 98 or ME, then sorry, adobe reader 7 supports ONLY Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

    Exactly!!
I've just DL'd 7 and thinking about installing it just now!
    That would mean I'd have 5, 6 & 7 all installed.....Is that a bit silly?

Did you defragment your computer after downloading it? I defragmented my computer immediately after installing adobe reader 7 and it runs so fast!

Maybe eccentric would be a better word. :D It's your computer though.
I took 6 off after I found out how slow it was.

I have four browsers on my computer right now. Very eccentric! :D
