ACPI error and aftermath

    When booting from a TI created boot CD, I Initially I received this error: "ACPI: unable to locate RSDP" - for this I entered "acpi=off" from the linux kernel command line and clicked OK, but then,

    I received a list of messages followed by: "unable to open an initial console" and the the PC reboots itself.

    Please help, this is driving me crazy!!!
