I have a home network - several computers running XP Home or Vista - all are fully up to date.

When I create a zip file on a computer (using PKZIP), I am unable to access it from another computer on the network - I can't open it or copy it. I get an "access denied" message. This doesn not happen with other types of files. If I create an MS office file, I can open it or even delete it from another computer.

This is a minor issue and I can easily work around it, but I am curious as to why it happens.

    Thanks,
    Len

Try creating a shared folder and grant it full read/write privileges

    Cudni -

    Thank you.

The folder in question was shareddocs. It had a read-only attribute. I cleared it and everything is fine.
