I can't find any information about it online? Clearly the URLs all work. But I would have expected an announcement somewhere which I haven't found so far. Where have you gotten that info?

Chinese forum kafan found it, I just downloaded it and followed the url in the GUI, which then redirected me to the link I've posted above.

Yes, it detected Bittorrent as a virus for me.

Image at Tinypic (For some reason when I posted it in the IMG tags, it just showed a link. o_O )

But a very fast scan. :thumb:

LaserWraith, perhaps this Wilders announcement: Third-party hosted image linking disabled will explain why that happened.

Wonder whats up with A-Squared they are giving free licenses every now and then.
I already got theirs some months back(both A-squared and Mamutu) and also will take this opportunity.

This has been very good year as there were many giveaways from gizmo's freeware (OA pro,A-Squared,Mamutu,IOBit 360,Panda IS 2010)

Besides Avira, A-Squared is probably the best AV program that I have ever used

Well, it's 20:33 in the US for me, should be 2:33 in CET zone. The posted link from the first post took me to
    http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/antimalware/
where it says free, but that redirected to another place where $40 is mentioned, and the link I just mentioned is for a 30-day trial

I can see the timer it's now 6 hours+, when I click Download, the only clickable item far as I can tell, it does what it did before - 30 day trial or $40, not a word about free, free licence, nothing that I can see.

because u gotta wait for the timer, the promotion isnt in effect till that counter gets to ZERO, so it will just forward u to a regular purchase page till then...

I read the whole post and am still unable to determine if A-Squared can be used safely with an anti virus like avast.

I was told by fellow geek students (geeks like to be called geeks here) that if more than 1 anti-virus is used the cpu will be working overtime --close to, or at 100%- and this can cause the cpu to over heat and die! :ouch:

Other geeks have their own pet theories: too much registry code tripping all over each other and cross writing and erasing similar code, ect.

I just want to be safe if I try out A-squared.

Can I run more than one anti-virus program? Anti-spyware program? Firewall? Should I?
