Thanks for your efforts andyman35.....that information is good to know.

I also agree with A-Squared's concept of not implementing read/write scanning, the process would only consume resources and the constant combing of the file system most likely would render sluggishness in both the
A-Squared Antimalware software and the computer's overall performance.

Thanks falkor,.....you have seventeen Posts as of this Post, Welcome to Wilders Security Forums.....

.....and your self proclamation was acceptable firzen771.....your statement was accepted as 'truth'.....sometimes one exists the knowledge of the truth without tangible proof or evidence, however, over time,
should one display overall trustworthiness, while most of the time they also provide tangible proof or evidence, then that persons proclaiming, overall, can be accepted as 'truth', even without tangible proof or evidence.

I accepted your statement as 'truth' even without the tangible proof or evidence and would have left it at that until I was unable to find the information on the venders Web Site stating one way or another whether
A-Squared Antimalware existed scanning on read/write access.....and is the only reason I raised the question in order to know the actual 'truth'.

    .....and now we know undoubtedly.....
    01) - A-Squared Antimalware DOES NOT scan or analyze files on read/write access, and the process is known as an: on-access scan.
    02) - A-Squared Antimalware DOES scan or analyze files when they are executed, and the process is known as an: on-execution scan.

The only drawback to this method ,which I've mentioned in a previous thread is that you have to remember to do an on demand scan on any files you download for somebody else, otherwise you could unwittingly pass on malware.

Probably running an ultra light 'real timer' such as PrevX alongside A2AM would be advisable just in case.

Running an manual scan on freshly downloaded files is considered good security practice and recommended, also,

A-Squared Antimalware exists an feature for scheduling system scans. Choices for scheduled scans include: daily, weekly, monthly, and custom interval scans.

Scheduling an Weekly full system scan I would consider sufficient enough to void supplemental third party layers. The more one adds the more resources used.

The mighty Ikarus can handle the job.....

The only thing that I don't like about the scheduled scans it that there is no option to run scan if it is skipped.

According to Emsi Software a-squared Anti-Malware 5.0 will have an optional on-access scan. So you will be able to choose if you want on-execution or on-access scanning.

Wasn't mentioned yet. There is no NDA though. So one of the testers could publish a few screenshots.

There should be a NDA when the beta is released.
