Do you know of a software that will block WRITE access to a specific folder/drive that I specified?
or will prompt me if a write is attempted in the specified folder.

I've been using universal shield for the past 3 years. It's a very solid program and can make folders invisible or make them read only, write only, etc.

System Protect works just like how I wanted it to be...
..but its a crawler product like SpywareTerminator which I heard that it used to be a rogue product.

Spyware Terminator has never been a rogue product.

There were initially concerns over at the Spyware warrior site, about Crawler (the developer) because of that company's former affiliation with IBIS,a company that produced adware.however those concerns have long since proven to be unfounded.

You can also set appropriate access control entries in Security tab of Windows Explorer.
