A quick question on NOD32 and Zonealarm IS

    I currently run the latest Zonealarm Internet Security Suite (v8.0.298.000) and have no problems with it. My OS is Vista home premium.

    I would also like to use the latest NOD32 (v4.0.314) for on-demand virus scanning, solely as a "second opinion" on anything suspicious.
    So if I got NOD32, I wouldn't want any sort of resident protection - I would only want to scan files with it via the right-click context menu.

    So the questions are :

    1. Is anyone using both Zonealarm (same version), NOD32 on Vista and do you have any compatibility issues with them ?

    2. Can NOD32 be configured to NOT run on startup, NOT run resident components etc and still provide context scanning ?

    Yes but there still be drivers running and conflicts might occur.
