    Of course the JWM window manager is going to be lighter than the Gnome desktop.

    Title is desktops, but then a mixture of minimal window managers and complete desktops are compared, not comparing apples to apples here.
    Nor is there a description of what functionality is actually running, network manager, blue tooth manager, keyring, compositor, clipboard manager etc

    How was memory consumption measured?
    'free' doesn't say much.
