Jello to everyone. I just have a few questions about SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster. I am the Network Software Specialist at a small community college. I am currently given the task of trying to protect our systems from spyware and adaware. Your products sound pretty good. I have to look for free programs due to our money crunch...IT gets hit first. My first question is this...I need something that doesn't prompt or display anything to the user....just blocks it. Do both of these do that? Secondly, I read where both of these prevent (which is great), but is there comman line switches for them? With Spyguard, can I remove the icon from systray? We like to have everything hidden from employees and students just because the less they know about the system, the less they know about trying to get around things on the system. Students will try to download and install everything and anything. I see where I can download the new updates and I can just use a script to copy them over to every computer on the newtwork....would this be the best way? I read somewhere in the forums that Spybot is basically both of these together, would spybot be a better solution? I know they have command line switches for everything from updating and scanning hidden. I just want to make sure that I get the best protection without installing a ton of redundant stuff. I know that more layers of protect are better than just one. I like Adware but it is not a free license for education. I see that SpywareBlaster is but is SpywareGuard?

    Thanks,

    - Spyware Blaster is a background running program. There are no messages that pop up. However, if you install the Auto Update, there might be some form of a pop-up. I don't know, I havent purchased the auto update.

    - That can be answered by Bubba/javacool/all the other techies

    - No, Spybot is a scanning program. It has its own blocking thing, but Spyware blaster is a much better program for the PREVENTION of adware.

Sorry i could not answer some questions,

    Regards,
