Panda IS looks basically the same. There was only one file in quarantine. The other two were not listed. Maybe I'll give Panda IS another try. Except for this problem, I was impressed with it.

Thanks for the info Pedro. As many users wouldn't have used Panda in awhile, might be unfamiliar with how it works.

Although some here might not like the auto quarantine by default, for 99 per cent of users I know, this is the setting I'd want on their system.

Graystoke, if you do decide to reinstall, you might try antivirus pro. Pedro seems to be only few minutes away, and I'm sure he won't mind others giving their assistance in improving the product.

    Hi:

I have a question. IS it possible to disable the firewall in the panda internet security and antivirus pro? I want to use its anti-malware only. No offense but the firewall of panda internet security got one of the lowest score in a recent major firewall leak test. Also will it work with the comodo firewall and plus defense+ or pctool firewall plus (highest scores in the leak test)? Thanks in advance. I am very paranoid on protection.

Uninstall Panda and reinstall . During the setup process , go into Advanced setup (Custom one or whatever it was called) and choose not to install the firewall . At the end , you'll have the product without firewall.

Please do note that i am totally against piracy and i do not encourage anyone to do same. But for educational & testing purpose i downloaded one keygen from a website, in order to test Panda.

When i used On demand scanning, Panda AV detected it immediately. But to my surprise when i execute that same keygen file, panda didn't detected it. And the same keygen ran successfully, but after that i immediately scanned it and again Panda detected it and deleted the same. o_O o_O

Why On-execution it was not detected?

Yes. I have noticed this as well. The On-demand scanner works better than the real-time component. A lot of malware weren't detected on execution, but they were detected by ondemand scans. Does the on-demand scans only check for malicious signatures within the Panda cloud? and not the realtime component?

Maybe the on-demand scans relies more on the generic signatures while the real-time scan relies more on the behavioral guard. Maybe in the panda signature database, keygens for panda as flagged as malicious but the behavioral guard doesn't detect it because the keygen is doing nothing damaging to the pc.

Basically the on-demand scanner is connected to cloud-scanning always. The on-access scanner is also connected to our cloud, but has different implementation based on whether the file is coming from an external vector (email, http, etc.) or is already sitting on the hard drive. Existing files sitting on the drive and being executed are checked against the cloud every so often (1 hour I believe) whereas files being downloaded are checked against the cloud in real-time.

That's not the good policy, i think so   . That means you are trusting malicious files which are already sitting on the hard drive. This will certainly goes against your product especially in AV-Comparatives test.

I can't find a product comparison on pandasecurity.com - what's the difference between Antivirus Pro / Internet Security / Global Protection? :doubt:

    Antivirus pro has:
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/antivirus/

Internet security adds, web filter, personal information filter, anti-spam, parental control, back up and restore, 2gb online backup (look for last two headings - safe internet browsing and backup and restore):
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/internet-security/#e3

Global has 5 gb online backup, pc optimisation and tune up (see Internet Security features above, plus another heading 'pc optimisation'):

I'm assuming, same as Avast, Symantec etc, connections go through a web proxy (webproxy.exe).

I know, but that means that Antivirus Pro contains all the "important" features: TruPrevent, Firewall, Web filter ...

Is there any reason to buy Internet Security or Global Protection? Parental control, back up, pc optimisation and tune up are not really important for a security product :)
