I installed over the top of last version.. On reboot got the above message within five minutes. When message comes up system tray icon goes away. Cannot restart by using start program in start menu.

Uninstalled. When uninstalling I did remove Eset folder. Reinstalled. Same message five minutes after first start up. Did a repair. Same message five minutes after first start up.

    Vista 32 is operating system.

Don't see other posts on this problem with 642 and was wondering what to do.

    Many thanks.

Could you check in the service list whether ekrn is set to start automatically and is actually running?

No, I did not. If problem re-appears, which entries should be deleted before a re-install?

    Thanks.
