    4.0.437 currently should I upgrade?

I use Eset in an automatic mode and have no problems other than undetected viruses which are caught by Super spyware and MBAM as needed.

I use Windows XP pro sp3

I would update to version 4.0.474. This version works properly without problems also on Windows XP SP3

You can update to 4.0.474 but I wouldn't recommand to upgrade to version 4.2 at least on my system (windows xp with sp3) it created a few problems...

There are many improvements to the 4.2 build Export your settings, install new build over-top, import your settings, enjoy.
You can always revert to the previous build if you have problems or prefer the experience of the previous.

Yes, upgrade and as suggested revert to previous version only if the new build does not work. It most probably will work fine

I have very few special settings so perhaps 4.2 will be fine especially with a clean install.

I have read posts which only confuse me on whether it is ok to install on top of old versions.

There still seems to be some issues with cookie recognition on some sites if using 4.2/W7/IE8.

Export your settings and re-import them on your new installation.

You may install any new current builds over top given the build is of the same family 4.0, as an example.

The new build seems to have a lighter footprint and less buggy, in my opinion, I would recommend updgrading to the new build
You did not post what your problems were, Atomas31

Non, I don't want it close... I will prefer instead that someone from ESET confirm that they are working on this issue or at least confirm that they know what is causing the problem

That post remains open since you said, I believe, that you would request an issue ticket, has this been done ? This would be the best way to get that particular issue resolved, as fast as possible.

I think I open a ticket (or send an email to support - I don't remember) but received no feedback...

Send a Private Message to one of the ESET Moderators asking if your issue is being investigated.

    Thanks everyone for the advice.

I have upgraded 2 computers to 4.2 and my 3rd computer is for my 81 year old father so I will wait a day or so to do his upgrade to be sure that there are no problems.

He uses Vista instead of XP.

On behalf of everyone that contributed to this thread, you are welcome.

If there are any issues with the Vista install, post back here.
