    You can:
    1: manually update, no problem
2: wait for several hours/days to prompt you to update

Auto update DOES happen, although it is very delayed from official webpage.

Can anyone confirm that this latest (5.0.0.2001) is using less resources ? became more light ?!
I see it uses about 55 MEG with only avira engine, 2 weeks ago that was about 90 MEG with avira engine

    Regards

for me the manual upgrade to 5.0.0.2001 was a bit of a mixed experience

win 8.1 with a virtualbox vm (linux host) went just fine

win7, standalone partition (not a virtual machine) wasnt that good. i did the same as in the win8.1 vm but after the upgrade it constantly complained that 360TsLiveUpd.exe was misssing, i checked the dir and the file really was gone - so i was unable to update the definitions and the action centre flag thing in the tray said i was unprotected. in the end i uninstalled and forcefully removed the 360 dir (i had to do this in linux, it was impossible in windows) - and did a more or less clean install. then everything was working..

Thank you for explanation but maybe was better put that simply in the program settings list because outside like now seems a tool for the user and not for the antivirus only.

Most probably because it is a separate module/process and not via main program.
This is a speculation on my part, until Jay confirms or denies it. :)

In addition I suggest to Jay a different name for that module, "Updates Manager" is much more clear for the user.;)
An other thing, on Start speedup options 360 TS suggest to disable the Windows System Restore Task but in my opinion this is a dangerous choice because this is a very useful in many case for restore a previous state due to virus or problematic software installations. ;)

Some might confuse it with Windows "Update" manager. But noted, I shall forward this to Qihoo guys.

As for the other one, good find, will also report to them....

A special surprise is coming for you guys from me and Qihoo staff :) once the pics upload, that is, I shall post them here :)

Oddly, since moving to a different AV, my bit-torrent issues have gone away. 360TS seems to give me issues with BT for whatever reason.

The trouble with Qihoo 360 Total Security is: its dashboard has no password protection. On a multiple-user desktop, every user might disable it with a mouse click, so the protection is gone. And that's completely beyond the pale.

I noticed a difference between scanning a single file using the right click context menu. In an admin account the program will open in custom scan and the scan will proceed. In a LUA, doing a right click scan, the program will open in custom scan but proceed no further. It just sits there. V 5.0.0.2001

Hi, thank you for your kind contribution, I will let Qihoo know.
Do you experience more problems in LUA with Q360 installed?

No, everthing seems to be okay. I did want to add that when right clicking a file in the admin account, no UAC window popped up but it did when using the LUA account. Doing a regular scan in a LUA does work.

Windows 7 32bit. Was a clean install and then installed Total Security. Also, the LUA and the admin account do not have a password.

    Hi everyone on the forum!

    Windows 7 64 bit here.
Internet Security 4.90 / 5.0 beta both work.
Total Security: real-time protection does not work at all! does not even start.
More precisely: QHActiveDefense.exe is not running. Trying to run it, it gives this error:
    -----------------------
    Parameters:
    - install to install the service.
    - remove to remove the service.
Service failed to run w/err 0x00000427
    -----------------------

    Any ideas/advice?

Is their an option to exclude a site from being tagged as a phishing/malicious under Settings? Apparently you can only add a site for 360 TS to block.
