Well I tried exiting 360, then tried to delete this folder but it's locked and it doesn't allow you to take ownership or edit any of its security settings

    C:\Program Files (x86)\360\Total Security\i18n\en\safemon\webprotection_firefox

Under settings for USB, select "only when threat detected".

ohh thanks a lot! that wasn't obvious. One quirk down :)

Now just the Firefox extension and the enable system hidden files to be shown and this would be the best free AV in the world

I think the + icon looks good in blue.
They should change it to blue.
Its blue on the main GUI & looks better IMO.
The blue colour goes with the GUI too.

    Password Protection should be there.

I was going to stay out of this, but since FleischmannTV started it... I'll join in.

Qihoo 360 is bad. Qihoo the larger company is bad. Many of its employees are former criminals.

It's an unscrupulous company with unscrupulous people.

Some will try to argue a false equivalency between Chinese government control of all aspects of internet use and the NSA. It is not valid.

The nature of internet operations in China and the nature of government/industry (including Qihoo) control of those operations cannot truly be understood by most except in a theoretical way.

I've known about the questionable actions of Qihoo for a long time but refrained from getting in the debate. I've even expressed mild support for the company... as most will not suffer by use of the free product.

But any corporate standards of conduct that exist in the US, European Union, and many other countries have NO existence in China. In fact, the government/industry connection in China perpetuates bad behavior rather than regulates good behavior.

Qihoo 360 AntiVirus is antivirus software that protects your computers against ... fighting spam, blocking access to hackers, preventing access to unwanted and ...

I'm not interested in debating the nature of the company, the nature of the Chinese government, the nature of the Chinese internet industry and the companies/government entities involved.

If you want to use the product, bravo to you. Go forth.

Just putting this out for those who might be interested.

i need to say something. if u look at the google play store qihoo is now on place 3(at least in germany) with over 100 million downloads in 1-2 monst or something? it pushed all the big apps under like facebook etc. it seems like qihoo hijacked the phones or somthing(dont know how it works) and shown a massage that they have viruses if u surf the internet and redirect u to play store to download qihoo antivirus to fix it. I dont lie,i had the massage too while normal on internet like facebook, youtube etc and than teh popup pups up. seems like qihoo have done some illegal stuff there,im not sure. some of my friends got this virus popup too and are forced to install qihoo on there phone becuase it pups up all the time surfing the net. So pls,can anyone explain whats going on there?

i read some post on the google store under qihoo and they give them all 5 stars and write something like "i just got a pupop that i had viruses, downloaded qihoo and now my phone have no virus anymore" and sure, there are normal users think they have virus because they have no clue they dont even had a virus on there phone and than give it 5 stars. i can see so much of this on the store(germany) So realy, what is going on? its someting big.

    I don't trust
I don't, and never will trust them. Nor any CN product on my systems, phones, or devices. I block the entire continent of CN on my UTM as a matter of fact.

Also, I had to LOL at this, nothing like your AV company sponsoring malware!

postet it on malwaretips and some said
"It's not illegal and they does not install threats. Their ads just treat people to download the app, then "scan" the devices and give some fake results, make the "victims" beleive that their devices have been infected and Qihoo saved them.
There are some similar ads, such as APUS launcher's.

It's funny these ads also tell that the WindowsPhone are also infected by Android threats"

so it is like some rough advertisment. I have uninstalled qihoo from all my machine(desktop,Handys etc) thats a NO GO for a "security vendor"?!

@Frank the Perv If you thought that http://www.isupport365.com/antivirus/qihoo-360-support.html was legitimate Q360 support..... Seriously!
For the rest, I have already replied pages back about basically all of the stuff mentioned. I am not going to beat a dead horse over and over again.

To those with anti-China Cold War mentality, ok, but also throw out other "Made in China" stuff from your house [look them up], because all of them have hidden GPS/Glonass and hidden mic, as well as 20MP autofocus Carl Zeiss optic camera with integrated night vision mode and auto tracking 360 degrees capability.

On top of that, each one of you have a name written on a spike rod hanging on a sattelite making orbit sweep every 26 hours overpass.
Oh, and they got all your porn history, soooo, yeah, that's for "Moral Deviant Hostile Element Department of the People's Republic of China" analyst team. Those guys in lab uniform.
White. Sterile. No one comes in. No one comes out. Ever.

See how easy it is to make claims like this. Just type it out. I actually laughed this morning, made my day, thanks :) Looking forward to more :)

@GakunGak you really need to take off your rose tinted glasses regarding Qihoo. No company is perfect and the fact that multiple sources have investigated them should show you that there is something there. You have a go at @Frank the Perv for saying what he said despite the fact he even says himself that there is no harm in using the free product. But then a quick look at your history shows you used to be exactly the same way with Comodo and their practices are just as dodgy, if not more so, than Qihoo.

@carbonize I am not preventing anyone's freedom of speech. In fact, I encourage it.
What I don't tolerate, though, is, baseless, unproven statements which may or may not degrade/decrease someone's name/status/whatever, be it a person, a company, celebrity, etc... Even someone as low as me :)

Regarding Frank, I have bolded what my radar picked up. I expect credible evidence.

From my side, I already provided various sources and statements including technology, business expansion, strategic partnerships with various companies like Microsoft and Amazon, etc... Would ANYONE cooperate with them on a daily basis if Qihoo was even 5% of those claims? I just push logic.

As for Comodo, they have a very good product, good management, and I still consider them one of the best in the west.

But, recent ads and some bad marketing made me seek alternative.

I was not able to prove they do shady business, but I got silent reply as to why US Gov/Military digital certs are in the Comodo rtusted Vendors List. That made me suspect.

If you consider me to be a bad image, or rather, do not want to communicate with me, or, even see my presence here, all you need to do is write something like "I don't want GakunGak here", and I shall dissapear.

I believe that should be satisfactory.

P.S. In case someone thinks i am mad or someting, no, just want to be of service and help people use this product. If I am doing a bad job, and I see lately that I am, I am willing to step down immediately and vanish.

The information and links I posted speak for themselves. The information there cannot just be dismissed.

    That stated..

I think you are a solid contributor and the last thing I want is for you to leave.

You do a great service to the board.

The rest we disagree on... and that's ok. It's all good.

I'd buy you beers if I met you.

    Your Pal,

    -Frank

    I'm glad you go on.

So my wish is 360TS to work fully under Standard User Account:
    - Its sandbox works only under Admin Account
    - Virus Scan - Full Scan misses "System Settings" if you are in SUA
    - When I'm in SUA and I want to tune its full settings I have to restart 360TS as Admin. It would be nice if 360TS settings were available without restarting 360TS as Admin.

    Thank you

Please don't leave, you are a great asset to this forum and I like that you take your users' suggestions and listen. You also are very logical in any bashing of 360 where you ask for evidence which is very fair.

Suggestions to make it a perfect product:

    1) Display system hidden files when whitelisting regardless of the Folder Options setting that a user has in Control Panel/Folder Options. This is a security product after all and should show every file on one's system when trying to whitelist / add to exclusions

    2) Don't for the installation of the Firefox Add-On, make it optional, because now even if I have it disabled, it's still there in the list of my add-ons which I don't weant. All I want is a lean and clean and a good antivirus.

    3) Please keep up what you are doing as in, no ads, no PUPs, etc. You have the only AV right now along with Bitdefender FREE (but that's a very limited AV) so you can easily claim the award of best free AV in the world. and your AV Comparatives / AV-TEST results only prove how good 360 is in both detections and lightness

    I would like the following

    1. Have options to selct max heuristics like in QIS or ESET (advanced heuristics)
    2. Reduce the FP. Files like Double Driver backup in the form of .exe gets flag, Files encrypted with Axcrypt in the form .exe also gets flag
    3. Have the rotating icon so that I know it is attempting an update.
    4. Ask them to start detecting PUP.
    5. Ability to submit samples for analysis be it FP or suspected through the GUI. Right now, the GUI will open the website to submit.
    6. Clipboard protection against clipboard logging or something like Kaspersky safemoney. I don't get what is qihoo trying to do by notifying one that they are entering a shopping site but does not provide any kind of protection.
    7. Increase the number of updates of Avira and BD engine to min 3x/day. The old Q360IS updates the BD engine min 3x/day.
    8. Create a removal tool for Q360.
    9. Don't copy Baidu. Colour, right click icon in tray menu, Lighting icon and their website looks like Baidu.

Can we disable Qihoo's engines? Especially that one responsible for lots of FPs?
