Unfortunately that's not always the case. Price mistakes do happen, but not all vendors honor them. Don't be surprised if you get a cancellation email.

That's true, mistakes happen, but in EU, if you have kept proof of the original advertisement and he refuses to honour it, if you denounce him to competition authorities he will get a big fine for milseading/fraudolent offer to the public and if you decide to pursue the issue by legal means, he HAS to give you the offer at the price for which he made the advertisment with. Cases like this have happened and the law didn't recognize "mistake". Once you go public with it, you have to honour your offer to the clients that tried to take advantage of it or pay hefty fine.
The threat of legal action alone (by email or paper mail) should be enough to give him the price in the offer.

lol, the only way I'd ever use AVG again is if they paid me. Even for 4 pounds I don't think it's worth it.

That is an often misheld belief:- no vendor has to honour any advertised price, they can even refuse to sell to anybody they don't want to sell to and don't have to give a reason, the only time any contract between a buyer and a seller is in place is if the seller accepts the payment as payment for the goods in full, most "good" sellers however do very often sell at an advertised price if it is a mistake just because of the bad publicity not doing can generate,if you apply over the internet and they take your payment then they do have to supply at that price as it is deemed they have taken the payment as payment in full, but they can still refuse your payment

zavvi is legit, and their prices are always pretty cheap, if it changes which it may, they will still sell for the price you purchased at.

i remember getting borderlands from them for half-price, only for it to go up again in a week or so, the price you buy, is the price you pay.

its what used to be Virgin Megastore btw i think, for all you people who are unsure about them.

ive used them many times for my PC Games :)

Anyone who needs a bunch of AVG should jump into this deal.

Honor the price or not, this is still a mistake, right?

no, it most definatly WONT be a mistake.

but Zavvi's prices also do fluctuate, so it 'may' go up or it 'may' not. :)

Dont have a clue lol but i have never had a tracked transaction through Quidco fail on me yet.

Nope, the price you see is the price you pay, see the feedback.
    Oh, Zavvi are legit too.
