I don't know about your first 3 predictions, but I can dang well assure you the 4th one already happens daily around this forum, lol. God forbid some piece of malware bypasses a previously "bullet-proof" setup, some of these people will fill themselves with coffee and not sleep for a week while they throw everything but the kitchen sink at said malware, lol.

This is so sad and very true at the same time. Malware gets past one of our setups it's revenge time and we will make a 200post thread about it on top of it all. :p Just the way of the beast I guess.

    Well,

    My prediction for 2010

Sully finds the time to adapt Pretty Good Security for x64 Windows7 and provides additional registry hacks to block execution of downloaded attachements and files. With right click option this block can be removed.

This will leave Wilders folks with a gigantic problem. No need to load additional security programs/complex layered defenses, just a free AV will do. With freebie Windows7FirewallControl (for novices) or Stem's post to make Vista FW 2-way pretty much completes it all.

    Regards Kees

Note: see example of GPO power of Pro/business version of Windows

What I Will Predict Is Something Different and Innovative One.

Malware Writers will write rogue AV's which will be capable enough to detect EICAR Test Files and other common infections. Even they will have some updated database, so that they can able to detect other rogue AV's but not there's. By this way they can be-fool innocent peoples and steal there info's slowly and steadily.

    About Security Suites,

I guess KIS 2010 will loose its market badly, however will remain best. Market Share will again goes in favor to Norton because of their good achievements in various tests.

About McAfee, It will remain at the same place where it was earlier, But what i feel that there Enterprise Security Will Remain top notch.

About Other Security Solutions you guys are very well enough to tell.

    my predications for 2010,

as tests change to include real-world, there will be a big shake up in what people think are 'good security' software.

    should be an exciting year,

will Prevx be included in such tests, does anyone know?

I don't see a big shake up happening. Yes the top 5 will change a little bit, but I don't see any other AV that did horrid all of sudden moving to the top.

    My prediction for 2010...

A Wilders member known for his overzealous defense all things Symantec will finally have a series of terrible experiences with the software giant's tech support, wherein his pleas for assistance are either repeatedly ignored, completely misunderstood, or he is advised to uninstall/reinstall his programs regardless of what the trouble is. This member will swear off all Symantec products for the rest of his natural born days, and issue sweeping apologies to all of the folks whom he dubbed bashers and nay-sayers. ;)

I agree, then again also disagree :) but what's new.

    My next 2010 Perdiction is.

People start dropping subpar AV's for better more efficient solutions and quit holding on to hope that someday there selected AV may actually hack it.

I predict that wavefront images will replace monitors and keyboards so that computers will all be the size of mobiles.

"Desktop computer in your pocket," will be the advertising slogan of Acer, the leader in this field.

I predict that saint satin stain will be the next governor of Alabama.

They went from Aluria to Kaspersky, and I think they are currently using Norton now.
