    I'm assuming the poster is trying to show that there were 400,000 "new" malware cases last year. I happen to think the 400,000 number is WAY off...but of course I also think upwards of 90% aren't "new" but only morphed versions of malware that was already out there

    There was around 34.000 - 40.000 new samples EVERY DAY in 2009. Go calculate :D
