I have the trial installed. Is there anyway to disable the bubble that comes up to tell you it's updating? It's driving my wife (who works at home all day) crazy?

Also - just curious - when I buy it, do I have download it onto the machine with NOD running, or do I get a code, or a 'registered' executable, or o_O I have a second machine that not on the net but I load floppies into it, etc,, so I still need protection

    thanks
    /j

1: No it can't be disabled. Just click it and it goes away, no need to go crazy :)

2: If you have the new trial intalled, you can just enter your username & password and it will be upgraded to a registered version (you'll find it under Updates). You'll get your username & password in a mail when you purchase NOD32.

    Enable Silent Mode.
NOD32 System Tools -> NOD32 System Setup -> Setup -> Enable Silent Mode.

That will make the bubble go away.

As far as what you get, you get a username and password to plug into the program.

    Hi jeffw_00, welcome to Wilders.

Silent mode is the solution to your first question.

Time to place that machine on your network, this will then enable you to update NOD32, you can use the mirror version with a 2 user license and it can grab its updates from the internet connected machine.

    Cheers :D

Does enabling Silent Mode JUST stop the definition update balloons coming up or does it also stop other NOD32 popups (if any others exist?)

Like a lot of other people on these forums, ALL I want to do is stop the definition update popups from appearing...nothing more, nothing less.

    I've got 2.70.16

It stops all popups unless they require user intervention.

    Cheers :D

Can you give me some examples of other popups that silent mode will stop?

If you have configured NOD32 to ask you to submit suspected file to ESET (BS's tutorial configures that to be done automatically) , NOD32 will pop-up to ask you for permission to submit the file to ESET via Theat Sense .

Also NOD32 pop-up during start-up if a threat in memory has been found during the start-up scan

I've turned off Threat Sense as I don't like it.

There must be some way to just stop the daily definition popups and leave everything else as it is?

Maybe a reg hack (just for NOD32 though and not all Windows popups!) o_O

Please can ESET give all users the option to disable definition update popups in future revisions of this excellent software!!!

I'm not interested in the "Silent" option as I may miss an important dialog box that I need to see...definition updates notifications are not vital to see every day...maybe just once a week or so.

Great software, shame that the "advanced setup" option doesn't actually give you enough options!

I also wanted to disable this option when I tried NOD32 last year, I thought this option was already added in latest versions o_O

I think that the only advantage in having this notification enabled is to make sure that auto-update procedure is working properly, even though sometimes these popups can be a bit annoying... :)

As already mentioned, just enable silent mode and you won't see the popup.

Sorry, but (after reading your question again) it's not possible.
The only way to disable the popup is to enable silent mode.

Please do post your suggestion in the Future Changes thread and maybe it'll be implemented in V3 of NOD32.
