It is true! I removed Nero7 and after that I can make backup with TI9 which was not possible before.

Thank you!

(But not 'For all TI9 problems', TI9 forgets the changed settings after removing Nero.)

Hmmm
I have Nero 6 Ultra installed and went back to TI 8 due to issues with TI 9.

TI 8 had no issues with Nero and performed the backup without any errors!
What's changed in TI 9 to suddenly cause issues with foreign burning apps?

There is (was) a beta version 7 that was (selectively) released by Ahead, and if this beta version is true to all beta releases, if you have problems with your computer, or other software, then, after checking for other problems (worms, trojans, virises, spyware, etc.) Either use Windows Restore or uninstal the beta copy.

There was also a pirated copy of Nero 7 going around that was "supposedly" posted by some "insider".

But of course, franz wouldn't be using pirated software, would he? ;-)
Or rather, admit on a public forum he is using pirated software?

Wink Re: For all TI9 Problems! Nero Burning 7 is the Problem !

I upgrade my Nero to the lates version 6 a while back. I installed TI 9 at home last weekend and never had a problem.

I did create a Windows Restore Point before I installed it because of the issues posted here. Everyone does research forums, webs, etc, before installing new releases of software, right? And set restore points or make backups, correct?

Well, after perusing my fav Burner discussion (CD Freaks) re: update to Nero 7, I am convinced that I'll just stay where I am with both products - latest TI8 and latest Nero6. Both of these products seem to have a sim product cycle, meaning that the end of a major release is the best of the batch, and the beginning of a new major release is just hell. It's been about a year of that for me with both of these really well-intentioned applications (of which they both seem to be the best on the market for what they do). And now at the end of cycle everything works. But like Nero, I think ATI has not delivered on all our requests with 9, and Nero just did very little as far as providing any new can't live without features in 7. BTW, I tried Nero Backitup but that was just a joke! I guess an ATI.

So the moral of the story is perhaps to wait until the end of software version cycle to upgrade

Good luck,
jigs

Thanks, scaa.
Yep, that's where I got my information (just last night by coincidence).

Franz, that's fine. If you got a legitimate copy so early, then perhaps it's because you're German
[EDIT: I have no clue if you're actually German or not.]

Anyways, I have built an absolutely fresh and totally updated install of Windows XP Professional SP2 on a hidden partition. I have installed absolutely no software. Some evening this week I will install the latest build of TI9 (for that day, snicker snicker...) and see how it behaves within that "virgin" testbed.

If I then have problems, I'll start my own support request and post if there's anything worth sharing.

P.S. I do, in my "base" install, have the latest Nero Burning ROM 6.6 Ultra installed. If I have time and inclination, I may deinstall Nero and see if it makes a difference.

Hi

Nero Burning 7 is not for all Problems.
Only for Problems with TI9 and Windows.

When I create a Backup only with the rescue CD and on the
End it came the Error " Bachup finished with Errors "
Thats a other Problem!! Perhaps a Script Problem?

nice day
mangray

I hope Acronic find this Problem, then restoring the Image, make
with TI8, works very Quick.

Sorry! That was said "tongue-in-cheek" and was not meant to imply that, and probably was in bad taste.

Seriously, the official version of Nero 7 hasn't been released yet. You can usually check the version number to find the version; it should tell you if it was a beta version.

I've installed TI 9 with absolutely no problems.
I have Windows XP SP-2, 512 M ram, 4 hard drives (100GB, 160GB, 200GB, and 300GB) and a Sony DRU-720A. I was able to back up to my working drive (D and even broke the image down into DVD 4.7 size for backup. I was able to "mount" the backup image and retrieve data.

Hey, Jigs.
Thanks for that link to CD freaks. I've not used it before, but just checked it out. I'll definitely add it to my favorites.

That is confusing ... either you do have Nero 7 as your very first post stated, or you are basing your statement on heresay?
Would you clarify your very first statement? How have you arrived at the conclusion that un-installing Nero 7 will solve the problem? Call me sceptic, but I don't just take any thing I read on the web seriously, until I've done a little research!

Some quotes from your posts:
