I've recommended a friend to NOD32, so she downloaded the trial version. She tells me that when she tries to activate the on-demand scanner, nothing happens (her words). She is highly "computer literate", has a PhD and was a programmer, so it seems unlikely she made some fundamental goof.
I've never had any problem with trial or full versions, so any thoughts I can pass on to her? Regards, John |

Does she have another antivirus program on her computer? Ask her to uninstall NOD and restart the computer. After restarting, delete the Eset folder in program files. Reinstall NOD and restart. |

I'd suggest that you drop an email to support@eset.com (or support@eset.us, if you are from the USA) with a link to this thread. Also, please enclose a log from Hijackthis (can be found on the web easily).
