Default Driveletters in Disk Director

When converting logical drives into primary ones, within the limits of Windows of course, the letter assignment of Windows, XP as well of 2000, has disappeared. The result was, that neither of both started, because needed files could not be found.
The reason for the change was just to preserve the assignment when new drives would be added to the computer. (No, Acronis, your FAQ gives wrong information, it is very well possible to install XP on a logical drive). I reckon, that primary drives on disk0 will keep their assignment, whatever.
Would there be a method to keep the assignment after conversion?

Hello robou,

Could you please clarufy what FAQ you mean? Is it the User's Guide? We don't recommend you to change the assignment manually. Could you please do the following?

- Download the Acronis Report utility from http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe;
- Run Acronis Report utility and select the "Create bootable floppy" option;
- Insert a blank floppy disk in the floppy drive and proceed with creating the bootable diskette;
- Boot the computer under consideration from this diskette and wait for report creation process to complete;
- Send the 'report.txt' file from the floppy disk to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread and please indicate in the subject that you want to contact Irina Shirokova. Please also tell me what error do you get when try to boot your computer?

Thank you.
