Default Will HTTP traffic scanning slow down the surfing speed ..even if marginally?

I've just about begun the use of F-Secure Client Security 6 .. and i'm concerned about its impact on the internet surfing while the HTTP scanner is active.

Will it affect the surfing speed.. i have a feeling it will.. and by how much?

My connection at work is a 64kbps connection.. is it advisable to keep the HTTP scanner enabled for a slow internet connection like that one? How will it affect the security of the system?

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Corrected typo in the topic title...
