Default nod32 update versioning problem

Hello,

We are running the linux download utility on our intranet server where all our clients are pointed. Since last night the command
nod32umc -cv
gives us the response that the mod_base.nup needs to be downloaded even after downloading. (Our script first checks if there is something to download before downloading the files.) We are constantly downloading the file every x hours since last night even though it's not necessary. What happened?

Don't know what you did (if anything), but it was fixed over the weekend. Now, though, we are getting the following:

warning: package 'NOD32_FOR_WIN98_ENGLISH' not found
warning: package 'NOD32_FOR_WINNT_ENGLISH' not found

Have things changed in the way we should look for and download the updates for our local mirror?

Hi Stephen,

>Now, though, we are getting the following:

warning: package 'NOD32_FOR_WINNT_ENGLISH' not found

Are you still getting that message?

Thanks,

jan

Sorry, Jan,

I was off for a couple of weeks, so am not replying until now.

Within a day or two the packages were found again, but right now (and this past weekend) the original problem appeared again. The Linux download utility continually thinks it needs to download a new version even though it already has the latest update. (We now have three mirrors on our network for different sites that are constantly downloading the same thing every x hours.)

Sorry for that - the relevant people have been informed and it will be fixed as soon as the base update will be changed.

Thanks for the feedback.

I hate to keep harping on this, but the versioning problem has returned (unless you are putting updates up constantly since saturday at 6pm ECT (UTC -5)). Ever since then we have been downloading the updates wasting your bandwidth and ours. Is there not some simple solution to keep this from happening? If so, shouldn't it be part of the quality control steps before posting a new update?

Just wondering

I have the same problem on our Linux server, too. Last update is downloaded on each update check.

I installed new version and now it seems to be OK. Download was made just on first update check.

Thanks for support.

That seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks, jan!

P.S. *small* bug fix The file size went from 48932 bytes to 447028 bytes--almost a 10-fold increase. for nod32umc.

Hey Stephen,

>P.S. *small* bug fix The file size went from 48932 bytes to 447028 bytes--almost a 10-fold increase. for nod32umc.

It's because it's static linked.

Cheers,

jan
