Default Best settings for F-Prot?

Trying to configure the real time protector, any suggestions?

I do not believe there are any options for the real time monitor in version 3.16c.

Assuming you are using an NT OS, unfortunately as stated;

The RealTime Protector scans by contents so that .EXE files renamed to something else should be scanned.
There are a few more configuration options under non-NT systems.
