Default Searching for updates by threat name...

I've often wondered if NOD32 updates covered a particular threat, and until now, manually trawled the update pages looking for a particular search string using the browser search option.

This seemed a little tedious, so as our copy of the NOD32 updates is backended by a database, I knocked up a search:

http://www.nod32usa.com/nod32-updates/

So, if you want to know which updates contained dragonbot variants, enter dragonbot in the search box, and press the "Search NOD32 updates" button - and results will be shown...

Limitations:
  • 50 most recent updates will be shown
  • keyword search only works on threats at this time
Things to be added:
  • search by date
  • search by update number
  • paging for results past 50

I hope someone else finds this useful too...

regards

Greg

thanks zashita - I hope everyone manages to get some use out of it - I'm often asked if a threat is covered, and I normally refer whoever asked the question to the regular updates page, and having searched countless times for a particular threat myself, I know it's a pain.. so once the pain of searching for Nth time exceeded the effort of putting a simple search together, I finally got round to putting it in place! Now at least others can also benefit!

regards

Greg

It will be usefull
Thank you to share this with us
And the nicest addition you could made (if possible), would be to highlight the searched words within the result, to reduce our pain

Regards

zashita: lol - yes - I'll be entering the wish-list for this, and just about every other section of our nod32usa website into our web based client/project management system - we're in the process of finishing the built of a system which holds all client relationship, client quotes, project management and much more... even internal website (or should that be ESPECIALLY internal websites) are entered into the system!

Jaguar: you're welcome... I figured if I found it useful, then at least one other user might!

It was what I call a low hanging apple - ie, it was the easiest of the items to add, with perhaps the biggest benefit ... so after I got back from the fireworks display I went to for the 4th of July, I added it as a way of 'winding down'...

Maybe 4th of July should come more often with such little ideas and great benefit (and fireworks too)
