Default Juno

Hi all,

For quite awhile, I've been trying to convince a friend not to use Juno. I've been telling him that Juno downloads software into the computer and uses it for its own ends. I also told him that Juno tracks everything he does in order to target ads.

Now, doing a search here, I see that there are a few people who use Juno. Have I been the victim of an urban legend?

Juno is just another ISP..now combined with NETZERO under a new parent company..with Juno still retaining its name out there. For $9.95 a month it is a good deal..not much spam in the email..try to do it as webmail and do not download your email to your PC and then you will not have those adverts. stored on your PC and what you do have will run out ( they are timed based) and will not display.

They are not agressively downloading anything to you like AOL has done..they do not track you to send you ads or email..they do have a proxy..and seince they have their own email client and do a good job at filtering...rarely will you end up with unwanted virus type email..and since you are not using OE for email that is another plus.

Most people use it for dial up..so make sure there are at least two connectiods for your friend that are local so there are not any added LD charges by the phone company.

Try to get ahold of Juno4 version and not Juno5.

Many thanks, Primrose.
Maybe someday I'll learn to check my facts FIRST before I start babbling.
