How many running processes on your machine? - Page 3

I got 40 processes but I got Tiny firewall having 5, and all security proggies are using two combined...

so it adds up. without the disabling of default services I would have like 55

Bear in mind in relation to the above majorgeeks link re services you may have decided to turn off/disable, etc., that 2 services, under the new MS Windows Updater, which are 'Auto Updates' and the BITS Services HAVE to be running in order to get updates, I usually go to Services first, Start them then do WU.

Afterwards, I turn them off again.

20 processes at start up, including 6 processes for AV+FW+PG+Reg Protection,

currently, there are 30 processes.

Not including user applications such as Firefox, 36 processes run on my PC; at the moment, this number includes Task Manager, SpeedFan and 4 instances of svchost.exe.

Usage of the 600 MHz CPU runs at about 10%.

43 running at present, but a lot less when boot up. The number increases as programs load up, but it's to be expected.

Average is 13 to 16 as reported by Task Manager. Currently 15 as reported by Services (including e-mail, AV, FW, Firefox). Under 10 after a clean reboot.

the reason the resources is so low is because i'm running firefox and it's using 120+ mb's right now..

i'm a freak for power user tools..

This is with all of my regularly used programs open (Opera, Winamp, MSN, NOD32 etc) so it'd rarely go above 25.
