I suppose this could be a privacy issue...
* * * * * * * Anyone know of any proggies that will clean, erase, delete..etc. *log files only ? *By that I mean, *not a huge program that cleans all trash, just a small program that targets log files only !!
* * * * * * * *Thanks...bill *

billmac - Have you tried the latest beta of SpyBot Search & Destroy? ( direct d/l link: http://patrick.kolla.de/software/fil...sd.preview.zip . It cleans out several 'logs'.

So does the freeware version of XCleaner: http://www.xblock.com/download-freeware.shtml . HTH Pete

Billmac, I have a subdirectory (sorry, in Gates' Speak, "Folder") on my desktop called "Setups". *In there, I place copies of all my installed OEM software, with text files of their keys, where appropriate). *Periodically I copy "Setups" to CD. *Periodically, I reformat and security wipe my entire hard disk, install the latest and bloatest offering from MurkySoft, and reinstall the software I bought or licensed from my CD.

It's cautious but effective. *Dead tracks tell no tales.

* * * * * * * * Very clever indeed !! I do back up all my software setup files on CD's, but formatting my HD on a regular basis....I hate doing that at the best of times.
SpyBotSD doesn't clean all the log files...but I love the program *anyway !!
I'll try the XCleaner mentioned by Spy1.
* * * * * * thanks.....bill * * *

SBSD is getting better by the day. Secure shreading is a newer addition.
